This one is special.For starters this is the medallion my dad passed down to me from my his father. After hearing the lyrics it just sounded like some gold medal champion sound music worthy of a cold piece.We manifested this album through building at various Flipabeatclub events. When we finally connected it was organic. Feel like we caught a wave. Cooked up 12 beats in a few hours just to lock in. Then I pulled some records that resonated with me and sliced em up in my S2400 to maintain that gritty chunky sound of the vinyl.Chop and Nán slide over the nuances of each beat. As a fan I love to hear these cats exchange bars back and forth. It’s an element that’s kinda lost these days with rappers. But these are MCs. You can’t put Chop and Nán in a box and label them as Mexican rappers. As a Chicano, I love the fact that they show pride in our culture but don’t get it twisted, whether it’s beats, lyrically or otherwise they’ll pack you up. On mamas.
